These Clinical Support Tools have been created by CRMC and are based on the most current evidence and are updated on a regular basis. Their goal is to allow our RNs to prescribe schedule 1 and 3 medications and to request tests and investigations in accordance with the standards of the CRNA. RN prescribers at CRMC have been trained to utilize the above CSTs through the completion of our Internships for the RN Prescriber in the Family Medicine Setting. The pathways marked in royal blue are the only ones available to graduates of CRMC's 6-month RN Prescriber Internship. Those who complete CRMC's 12-month RN Prescriber Internship may utilize all the pathways available. As per agreement with the CRNA regarding the training of RNs through our internship programs, these pathways may be used only by those RNs who have successfully completed our internships and whose medical directors have approved these exact same Clinical Support Tools when they are permanently moved to work elsewhere in Alberta after the completion of the Internship at CRMC without having to complete 750 extra hours of RN practice at their clinic of destination.
